Chicago…..dont forget us!!!!!

After a junkfood filled car ride from Nashville with Raj (who offered us a lift after seeing our website – big upRaj!!) we met up with some of the best hosts we have had so far, Katie and Bradon. On Saturday they pointed us in the direction of downtown where based on a few different tips we got to see Transformers 3 being filmed, hang out at Millenium park, play with ‘the bean’ and finished the night off with a fireworks show down at Navy Pier.
Katie and Brandon however became our social directors for the weekend so here are our tips on how to overindulge in Chicago:
EAT: Thats right eat, when in Rome do what the Romans do….when in America…GET FAT!!! Apparently Chicago is famous for its food. So we had to have a Hot Dog with all the works and deep dish pizza from Unos…….dont make the mistake we did and try get these both in the one day…….I’m hoping the next host will be a Weight Watchers leader or a personal trainer.
DRINK: We went to a Southport Street Festival, complete with bands, beer and the local Jewish Rabbi. The bands we got, the beer we drank but the Rabbi wasn’t so forthcoming with letting us join him for the afternoon so we got to hang out with Katies family, swap Irish tales, and drank some more beer….and then some more…and then some more…….
AND BE MERRY:……OK so the last one goes hand in hand with number two (most of the time) but merry we got. I even got to show off me pussy popping skills that I picked up in New Orleans…..and who says that culture doesnt travel in this country. The end of the night is a blur but we got home in one piece and the girls even had a fashion shoot in the back of the cab, with the cab driver as photographer…….
Awesome weekend rounded off by dinner in Boys Town with an old friend of Bex and the girl responsible for hooking us up with such an awesome group (thanks Jen), just like meeting up with old friends…..now its off west for some mutton busting and demolition derbys at the Kansas county fair….but not before we visit St Louis first.
